Student Nurse Apprentice Program
The Student Nurse Apprentice Program (SNAP) allows student nurses to start their career at Northern Nevada Health System while still in nursing school. SNAP applicants must complete the first semester of a nursing program to include nursing fundamentals at an accredited Nursing school for an Associate of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and maintain concurrent enrollment in a Registered Nursing program.
SNAP employees are afforded flexible scheduling to accommodate program obligations while earning competitive wages. As a SNAP employee, you will obtain hands-on exposure and clinical experience within the acute care environment and enhance your knowledge and skills as you move from student to professional nurse. Once you graduate and pass the National Council Licensure Examination and are offered and accept an RN position, you will automatically transition into SNAP Program at Northern Nevada Health System
New Graduate Nurse Residency
This year-long program will help you transition from a nursing student to a nursing professional under the guidance and mentorship of clinical nursing staff, nurse educators, and program facilitators. The goal of the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program is to inspire passion and excitement about your new role while creating a social network to foster a sense of community, support, resiliency, and professional development.
