About First Hospital Panamericano
In October of 1987, First Hospital Panamericano was founded in the beautiful mountains of Cidra, Puerto Rico, to be a psychiatric hospital with the mission of raising the quality of psychiatric services available on the Island.
Thinking about the needs and well-being of patients, in October 1990, Panamericano inaugurated its first partial hospitalization program, known as the Pan American Access and Treatment Center in the Hato Rey area. We have evolved to become the most complete mental health system in Puerto Rico, with integrated and varied services for adolescents, adults and the elderly; with seven (7) outpatient centers conveniently located throughout the Island and two additional hospital units: Pan American Ponce and Pan American San Juan.
Our organization is accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Facilities (Joint Commission); by Medicare and by the Puerto Rico Department of Health.
