Contact UsNurse Externships
Your nursing career begins before graduation. Our externship program allows senior nursing students to complete a focused preceptorship alongside experienced nurses in their selected specialty areas, strengthening skills and confidence in real clinical settings. With an 8- or 12-shift commitment and a completion stipend, externs gain meaningful experience while laying the groundwork for a successful nursing career.
Nurse Residency Program
We support nurses from day one through mentorship. The transition from student to practicing nurse is one of the most important steps in a nurse’s career. Our program is designed to support you through this transition with structured learning, experienced mentorship and the confidence to grow into practice. Through guided education, unit-based experience and dedicated development days, we’re committed to helping new nurses build strong foundations and thrive.
Clinical Ladder Program
Growth in nursing doesn’t happen by chance, it is built with intention. Our Clinical Ladder Program supports RNs who want to grow professionally while continuing to provide exceptional bedside care. Through leadership development, education and recognition of advanced practice, nurses are empowered to deepen expertise, advance their careers and help elevate the quality and safety of care for every patient we serve.
Nurse Education Partnerships
Strong nursing careers are built through strong partnerships. Aiken Regional collaborates with trusted nursing programs to create meaningful pathways from education to practice. Current partnerships include Aiken Technical College, the University of South Carolina Aiken and Chamberlain University. These partnerships support hands-on learning, clinical experience and career readiness benefiting nurses, our care teams and the communities we serve. Together, we’re helping the next generation of nurses transition confidently from classroom to clinical practice.
