About Benchmark Behavioral Health System Hawaii
Each client is provided an individualized treatment plan, based on his social, academic, and mental health history. The client’s feedback regarding his treatment plan is expected and welcomed. Treatment planning includes individual, group, and family therapies. Medication management could be used as adjunctive therapy. Clients will attend an on-campus Department of Education approved classroom, with a teacher who is special education certified, and who can implement Individual Educational Plans (IEP) as needed.
Staffing includes a psychiatrist, therapist, case manager, nurses, and direct care staff, and all will guide the client through a self-paced, motivational, stage-wise approach to therapy. Clients will choose when they are ready to move to the next stage. Benchmark’s program integrates cognitive behavioral, trauma-informed, attachment, and family-of-origin therapies. Specific issues such as anger management, bereavement, self-harm, and substance abuse are addressed as well.
