For over 100 years, Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Medicine, located in Willoughby, Ohio, has provided high-quality behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services to adults, adolescents, and children.
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is responsible for quality patient care on the inpatient unit.
On a daily basis you will:
- Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment.
- Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
- Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
- Assist with patient groups and activities
- Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
- Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
- Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques

Qualifications
Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED. Proven STNA or Medical Assisting certification is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility preferred.
Work Environment: Work indoors, long periods of standing on feet, continuously working near people, but usually a few feet of space separated from patients and co-workers, often exposed to distracting noises
