Responsibilities

TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes both primary care and specialty physicians.  The Critical Access Hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services along with 24-hour emergency services.  The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Program was established to assure access to healthcare services for rural residents.  The program provides rural acute care hospitals with a range of opportunities for service enhancement and quality of care improvement.  Quality healthcare and patient safety is our goal.  Delivering the right care at the right time in the right setting is the core mission of a critical access hospital.  We are committed to improve the quality of care we deliver every day.  TMC Bonham is managed by Texoma Medical Center, subsidiary of UHS.

 

The ER Admissions Rep performs Pre-Admission and Admission services to ER patients an could cover in all areas of the hospital. Correctly identifies patient and maintains accurate patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Collects Financial information including payment from the patient/guarantor. Obtains insurance information, verifies benefits and obtains authorizations for services. Calculates insurance company co-payments, deductibles and collects financial responsibility due from patients at the time of admission or discharge. Obtains Medical and Financial Consents, secures proper signatures on required documents. Provides required information to patients concerning their Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives


Qualifications

Reading and numerical competency, some college preferred.

 

Minimum of 6 months general public contact in person or by phone. Preferably in a healthcare setting or healthcare insurance setting.

 

Must be able to handle detail work accurately and rapidly, must be able to interact with co-workers and other departments; possess good listening, verbal and written communication skills; appropriately handle high stress situations, basic computer and internet experience
