Registerd Nurse- Infusion Center CANCER CENTER

 

St. Mary’s is a 229-bed, acute care hospital located in Enid, OK.  St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has served the healthcare needs of northwest Oklahoma for more than 100 years.  We host more than 125 highly skilled physicians offering specialties in Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, Women’s Imaging, Wound Care, and more.

Position Summary: 

Plans, implements, and evaluations nursing care, utilizing nursing process for assigned patients. Provides for psychosocial needs of patients. Directs and monitors activities of personnel who deliver patient care.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs body system assessment accurately and promptly, including assessment of pain.
  • Assesses patient/family educational needs and expectations of visit.
  • Incorporates clinical indicators (labs, radiology, vital signs) in SBAR hand-off report to physician or other staff.
  • Assesses the biological, psychological, physical, and cultural needs of patients and family members.
  • Recognizes and provides ongoing assessment of any change in patient condition.
  • Monitors, recognizes and reports abnormal test results.
  • Demonstrates appropriate clinical skills.
  • Provides care independently to assigned patients.
  • Implements the individual interventions from the plan of care.
  • Observe patients to evaluate general health and/or any radiation side effects.
  • Assists and coordinates Radiation Oncologist’s schedule with daily patient appointment schedule.
  • Cleans, stocks, and orders supplies for exam rooms as required.
  • Coordinates chemotherapy procedures.
  • Informs/assists Radiation Therapists with daily scheduling, treatments, block fabrication, and simulations.
  • Demonstrates adequate skills in using appropriate nursing equipment.
  • Demonstrates compliance with quality measures.
  • Documentation is accurate, timely and problem-focused.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure from the State of Oklahoma required
  • ADN required; BSN preferred
  • Current BLS required
  • Experience in oncology preferred
  • Basic computer skills required.
