Acute Care Assistant & Associate Administrator Program
Our Acute Care Assistant and Associate Administrator Program will provide you with exposure to leading operations, ensuring quality, maximizing return on investment and promoting services within the community and ultimately advancement to C-Suite openings at UHS.
In this program, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for assigned departments efficiently and effectively to maximize quality of services and profits of the hospital. Participants will establish direction, coach employees, provide feedback and build commitment. You will need to assure consistent compliance with UHS directives in areas such as quality, risk, financial and human resources. You will promote UHS’ Service Excellence program to ensure all employees are committed to quality and service. You will participate in project planning and will implement the strategy of the CEO and COO. There is a potential for rotation among UHS facilities on a periodic basis in order to enhance exposure to a variety of services, programs and management styles.Requirements:
- Knowledge of the financial implications of decisions including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of departments and/or projects
- Must be detail oriented and able to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations
- Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians, managers and employees
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA or related program)
- 2-3 years of hospital management experience at a mid or senior level

Behavioral Health COO in Training
Our COO in Training development program has been designed to identify high-potential behavioral health leaders in the marketplace and internally within the UHS hospital system. Chosen candidates will be placed within a UHS free-standing inpatient psychiatric facility and work closely under the tutelage of a Chief Executive Officer. During the training period, candidates will focus on key areas of the business, gaining expertise in the functions of managing and creating a successful team, functional areas of the business such as clinical departmental management, nursing, regulatory functions, finance, business development and marketing as well as building community partnerships with providers and behavioral health programming.
The program prepares fast-track leaders to harness their talent and broaden their knowledge of leadership and the functional aspect of running a UHS Behavioral Health hospital. Candidates who successfully complete the training will be placed as Chief Executive Officers within the UHS Behavioral Health division.
The knowledge you gain during this process from interactions and real-life work examples will help lay the groundwork for managing and running a successful UHS Behavioral Health facility.

Behavioral Health CFO in Training
Our CFO in Training development program has been designed to identify high-potential, hospital-based financial leaders in the marketplace and internally within the UHS hospital system. Chosen candidates will be placed within a UHS free-standing inpatient psychiatric facility and work closely under the tutelage of a Chief Financial Officer. During the training period, candidates will focus on key areas of the business, gaining expertise in the accounting and finance functions along with managing and creating a successful team. They will focus on facility financial metrics including but not limited to, provider contracting, budget and strategic planning, accounts receivable, business office oversight, preparation of monthly and yearly financial packages, and full time employment management/staffing in relationship to patient volume, to name a few.
The program prepares fast-track healthcare financial leaders to harness their talent and broaden their knowledge of financial leadership within a UHS inpatient Acute Psychiatric facility. Candidates who successfully complete the training will be placed as Chief Financial Officers within the UHS Behavioral Health division.
The knowledge you gain during this process from interactions and real-life work examples will help lay the groundwork for becoming a Financial Executive within our Behavioral Health hospitals.
