What does Service Excellence mean at UHS? It means providing world-class service that is professional, timely, effective and efficient to all of our customers at all times. It is built firmly upon the foundation of our company mission, vision and principles. It is how we approach every interaction—every day, all the time.
All employees participate in Service Excellence training. During a two-hour session, new teammates learn what Service Excellence means at UHS and develop an individual action plan, which is mutually shared and maintained with employees and their managers.

our Commitment to Veterans
UHS is a member company supporting the Veteran Jobs Mission, the leading private-sector solution addressing U.S. military veteran unemployment. Since its 2011 founding, the coalition has grown from 11 to more than 245 private companies that represent virtually every industry of the U.S. economy—and has collectively hired more than 455,000 veterans.
Building on this momentum and reflective of the significant contributions veterans have made to the companies that have hired them, the Veteran Jobs Mission has raised its goal to hiring 1 million U.S. military veterans. Coalition members also focus on retention and career development of veterans in the private sector through sponsorships, on-boarding training, and industry-based subgroups to foster member collaboration.

our UHS Foundation
Established in 2005, the UHS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity that provides assistance to UHS employees who have been affected by hardship due to natural disasters such as hurricanes, fires and tornadoes.
To date, the UHS Foundation has disbursed over $2 million to employees needing assistance for living expenses, including housing, utilities, clothing and other basic necessities. The UHS Foundation provided assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael and the California wildfires (2018), and Hurricanes Maria and Irma (2017).
Ronald McDonald House
UHS employees had the privilege of preparing and serving a delicious dinner as Guest Chefs at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. The new Family Tower is named after benefactors Jill and Alan B. Miller, who graciously support the House, as well as many other philanthropic endeavors in the City of Philadelphia.
